Collars

There are may types of collars made from leather, nylon, rope, chains and metal prongs. Choosing the right collar is an important aspect of retriever training. There are three main types of collars that we will discuss, traditional, choke and prong/pinch. Our recommendation for retriever training is the prong/pinch collar.

Your collar can injure your dog

How many times have you seen a handler give a strong jerk to their dogs leash and literally throw the dog backwards. If this is done correctly there is minimal chance of damage, but done incorrectly you can damage the dogs windpipe or neck. Not to mention in the extreme you can cause a consussion.
